I was very disappointed in the quality of the book. The pages are very thin, the book itself is very small. For the price of $80, I certainly expected "textbook" type material. I cannot believe that the price tag on this book is $80! It also came in very poor condition despite being purchased as new. The cover was bent significantly in multiple places. I almost never leave poor reviews on products. The content of the book was fair. It could afford to be better organized. There were some good resources in the back.
I had to buy this book for a class and it is way too expensive for what it is. There are only 137 pages of actual content. Pages 138-177 are the Appendix and Index. It is soft covered and cheaply made. The pages are so thin, you can see the print from the other side of the page. If you need it for a class, I guess you'll need to buy it but otherwise, I'd look for another option.
Arrived quickly but pricey for how small the book is. Content is helpful though.
This book contains basic information that would be helpful to professionals across the multidisciplinary scope; however, for a paperback the book is grossly overpriced and the pages are of the poorest quality of paper and that makes for a difficult reading experience. Not practical to keep as a desk reference due to the flimsy overall quality. Don't waste money on the paperback, download the Kindle edition.
I am a chaplain who leads grief groups. I found this book easy to read and especially liked how it talked about grief related to all kinds of loss- not just death. The author recognized that many professions have to deal with grieving clients- even if they are not typically considered "helping professions". This book can be helpful to lawyers, judges, and teachers as well as healthcare professionals.
Maybe I shouldn't judge till I read the book, or maybe I just don't know the going price on "textbooks", but compared to the book I bought for the last class took, I would have thought that the $70 would look more like a textbook and not a thin under 200 pages book.
I will admit I am giving it only three stars for two reasons. The first, is it is not worth paying the retail price for the little information contained. Second, I downloaded the Kindle version which was basically a PDF of the book. The content is okay, basic standard fare.
Great material in the book but severely overpriced! I am shocked at what they are asking for this book and the paper quality is terrible. I had to have this for a class or I would have sent it back.
