Purchased as a Christmas gift for my 16 year old cousin. She is a Harry Potter fanatic and seemed to enjoy it. She kept using the insults on me, but having never read the books or seen the movies I wasn't terribly offended based on the fact that I had not a freaking clue what she was talking about. Although she did seem to get a pretty good burn in based on the laughter from some of my family members who are apparently more in the Harry Potter know than I am. Why did I have to be a Lord of the Rings fan? I just wanted to understand the jokes and be included. Why did you have to ruin Christmas Harry Potter Insult book? I was so upset that I couldn't even eat my second breakfast.
I purchased this book as a stocking-stuffer for my 10-year-old son, who really enjoyed it. We visited Universal Orlando's Wizarding World of Harry Potter over winter break and my son, all decked out in his Gryffindor robes, had fun using the insults on Universal employees wearing Slytherin robes. He cracked everyone up with some new lines they seemed not to have heard before.
I bought this for my bestie who loves Harry Potter.. she's in her 30s lol. It has some reallllly funny jokes! I compared the old and the new one because I accidentally bought the older version and I have concluded even though they have changed some jokes in there, the smaller size of the newer version is a lot nicer and the illustrations are a lot better. The jokes they changed were ones that might have been a little sensitive to "looks" so I can understand why they have a different version, but as I am 30 I thought they weren't that affecting to myself. But keep that in mind if you are buying it for someone younger that might be sensitive to image.
A definite must read for any Potterhead! Quite clever and not only useful against Slytherins but also to help Slytherins like myself and against their Gryffindor rivals ;)
I never have been bullied, but if I ever do, ill have loads of comebacks-whether they understand them or not-when I need them. This book is perfect for people getting bullied or for showing your siblings who's boss! $3? Worth it!!!
I gave the HP insults book to my friend today. She’s a huge Potter reader and she just had a baby girl. She loves — LOVES — that book. She was hysterically laughing at jokes her husband and I don’t understand, and she’s buying a copy for a friend.

I bought this for my 10 year old niece who is a Harry Potter fanatic and she loves it! If you're familiar with Harry Potter the insults are funny. (I've never read the books so the insults go over my head.) Great book for the Harry Potter fanatic!
